Welcome to the Fall issue of CapeWomenOnline, where we look at how Cape Cod has a little something for everyone after the summer season ends. The seasonal nature of our economy has created an off-season community that is passionately invested in supporting Cape Cod businesses through local festivals and events that celebrate the Arts and provide local produce, goods and services of an exceptionally high quality. These events are fun, inspiring and a great place to network with kindred spirits. We are especially thrilled to share vintage writing about Cape Cod by the late Rachel Ellis Kaufman, selected by her daughter Heather Blume. As Rachel notes, we live on an impermanent peninsula where "the very smallness and fragility of the Cape enters the heart and invades the soul." Talking of impermanence, CWO is one of a few remaining independently owned publications on Cape Cod. As large corporations swallow up our newspapers we are proud of being locally owned and operated, publishing stories about issues that YOU care about. Your support for our magazine and our advertisers is very much appreciated. As promised, in our newly designed Spring issue, we are now rolling out another new feature that we think our contributing writers will LOVE. Instead of linking to article pages, the new Contributing Writers List will now link to Author Pages that feature author biographies and links to their social media handles and websites. These pages will also have space for events that are scheduled throughout the duration of the current issue. We encourage contributing writers to review their Author Pages and email us with any additions or changes. CWO is your venue to share your stories, poetry, artwork and photography. If you would like to become a contributing writer please visit our Submission Guidelines. Be sure to add your email to our FREE Subscription box (at the top of every page) to receive information about submission deadlines and upcoming events and classes. THANK YOU to our amazingly talented contributing writers, artists and photographers. And thank you, dear reader, for sending us your LETTERS, that tell us how we're doing and what you love most about our magazine. Your words are the fuel by which we power this little engine - we hope you love this new issue as much as we do! Wishing you a warm and very cozy fall! Nicola, Publisher/Editor |
