An Office in Other Worlds

Most working women head off to the workplace, where, for the most part, they know what to expect, what needs to be done and who they will be working with. My work day is very different in that I have no idea what can happen, or who will come through the spiritual door.
Working as a metaphysician, I alternate between the physical and nonphysical planes of existence. My work includes mediumship, energy healing and teaching metaphysical classes.
I do have a physical office, but those walls expand into the spiritual realms of existence, where there are no physical boundaries. My work sometimes comes knocking when I'm trying to sleep, meditate or have a day off to recharge my batteries.
On many occasions, for example, a client's loved ones will visit me the night before a scheduled session if they are too excited to wait until my work begins in my physical office. They will literally knock on my walls, bedside table and window until I wake up and listen. I understand their enthusiasm to share their information, but sometimes I have to say "No, come back tomorrow," if I am too tired.
Other times, I do listen to them if they feel they will be boxed out by other loved ones who want to get through during the scheduled session. It is an interesting line of work and it's an honor to help those in Spirit connect with their loved ones here in the physical plane.
I've had so many wonderful connections with people in Spirit. They usually want to share how much they love us, how they watch over us and send us prayers and good energy. Sometimes, however, the work can be challenging and draining, especially if the spirits trying to come through have had a tough crossing, or they are eager to get a message across.
On one occasion, when I was sitting with a client, I felt a sudden sharp pain in the back of my head, and then I saw a gun. This particular spirit was desperate to get the message through of how they'd died. Wow, did that work! They also wanted to share how they have healed from the trauma so that my client could find peace and move on emotionally.
Some people in Spirit come through to bring messages of forgiveness and healing. Sometimes they like to comment on what the client has been doing in their life. They may even request a certain meal to share with them.
I've had spirits come through who need help crossing over. In such cases I will ask my client to help with this transition. It makes a lot of sense for a client to help a spirit who may need encouragement to let go and move on to a better place.
We all need love and encouragement to move on from a place of fear to love.

Another big part of what I do is energy healing work. Clients will come in to work on their emotional blocks, physical discomforts or both. Our physical, emotional and spiritual bodies are interconnected, so one way or another, our bodies, minds and spirits will tell us it is time to heal certain things in our lives.
Seeing the changes in someone's energy field and outlook following a treatment is very rewarding.
Clients have come in requesting a physical healing so they don't have to have surgery. Well, that is a tall order, and I tell them it is not up to me, but up to their Higher Self and Infinite Sprit. I have been pleasantly surprised at how many times people have told me that the doctors cancelled their surgery because the physical ailment had shrunk, or left them completely.
There is so much room for miracles with this work. I also put crystals on people if I am guided to use them. I am usually told which ones to use and why, so I set them up on my selenite wand and trust the guidance I receive.

Teaching is also an important part of my work. Sharing knowledge is so special and so sacred of a practice. I teach mediumship, Reiki and metaphysical arts. I teach private classes, workshops and also do private mentoring. Everyone always learns something, even if it is not what they expected. Spirit teaches us that expectations can block us from seeing the true realities. I am still learning from my Guides.
This work is so different and so wonderful - there's nothing else like it. I must keep my body, mind and spirit conditioned in order to do the mediumship an energy healing work. I do this by exercising, meditating, sending healing to myself, doing chi-gong, eating healthy and staying positive.
If I get off track, I feel it on all levels. My whole body will ache; I will feel depressed and disconnected from Infinite Spirit. This work takes self-discipline and self-nurturing. It can take a lot out of me, so it is important for me to take a day or two to recuperate my energy.
After every session I clear my crystals, clear the room I work in, clear my home and my energy field. It takes a lot of discipline to keep this kind of work going, but it is worth it.
