The One That Got Away, Oil on Panel by Susan Danton
Welcome to the Fall issue of CapeWomenOnline, the only magazine for the Women of Cape Cod. If your summer was crazy (whose wasn't?), you're probably ready to slow down, put some cinnamon to simmer on the stove, and bring your focus inward. We ALL deserve to take time to enjoy this gorgeous season of autumn smells and warm light that reflects golden hues off the ponds and oceans of Cape Cod. To that end, we've rounded up a list of fun things to do as our community comes together for the annual Fall Festivals. If you're not ready to head indoors just yet, you might want to read Jackie O'Hara's article about why she created an outdoor Zen Garden. You may even be inspired to build your own! Local landscaper Grace Finch shares her mammoth efforts to close up 10 gardens that she tends to in Closing Time. Our Literary Women section has some very useful advice for writers, with Part Two of Nicole Bouchard's article about developing your writing career, and Katie shares her editorial wisdom in her new column, The Write Way. We are delighted to welcome back veteran Cape Women contributing writer, Mary Stack, with her excellent Life Story, RED. Life Coach Maggie French debuts her new column, Living Whole, with a discussion on finding balance in life, and a response to a reader's query about how to make time for ME. The Letters in this issue are so powerful you won't want to miss them. Remember that our Events, Classes and Support pages feature Cape Cod's outstanding organizations that make up the fabric of our community. Check these pages regularly for updates. Thank you to our contributing writers, artists and advertisers, who make this magazine possible. You support of our efforts means everything to us. We hope you enjoy this issue as you sip your hot cider. Have a festive Fall season! Nicola, Katie and Jane Letters From Our Readers
