Helping Families Help Themselves: Supporting Young Children, Their Families and Providers in Harwich

The Friends of the Harwich Early Childhood Advisory Council is a non-profit group of volunteers who formed seventeen years ago with the commitment to help Harwich families with young children access quality child-care and preschool, as well as comprehensive services, education and support. These services are made possible primarily through grants from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care in partnership with the Harwich Public Schools.

The programs and services are free to all families and the tuition and child-care assistance is on a sliding scale. However, there is a regular need to supplement grant funds and therefore the “Friends” group works tirelessly to raise the additional funds needed.

  • $200 = 1 week of child-care or preschool assistance
  • $500 = 1 month
  • $1,000 = 1 summer program scholarship or 2 months of tuition assistance

Donations are gratefully accepted by the
