Fall for the Arts on Cape Cod

On September 29 the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod - in partnership with Cape Cod Media Group and Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce - will launch the fifth annual Fall for the Arts Festival for the entire month of October all across Cape Cod.

Fall for the Arts is a family-friendly festival that showcases local art and culture from September 29 - October 28. Events include: live performances by local musicians; open houses at theaters, museums, and historical sites; readings and lectures; art activities for children; guided art and heritage walks; plein air painters; special art exhibits; and much more!

Theaters, museums, individual artists, studios, galleries, and other members of the cultural community across Cape Cod will be offering specials and discounts throughout the weekend to reach visitors and residents of all ages during this free, regional event.

Members of the Cape's creative community are encouraged to get involved with the Festival and take advantage of the free promotional opportunities offered by the AFCC for every Fall for the Arts participant.

For a complete listing of scheduled events and up-to-the-minute information, visit the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod's Fall for the Arts webpage.

What kind of events will I find at the Fall for the Arts Festival?

The possibilities are endless. For example, business and cultural venues can:
  • Invite artist and craftspeople to work in-store or in their display windows
  • Offer arts-themed specials in your business
  • Extend the hours of your business during the weekend to increase your audience
  • Host an artist to conduct mini-workshops for kids and/or adults in an informal environment
  • Offer special discounts during the weekend in support of the arts
  • Display original artwork of local artists in your windows
  • Offer a guest speaker on a featured art form, genre or artist to the general public
  • Host a "Kids Creation Station": offer make-and-take art projects; create an outdoor chalk painting event, student stage, scavenger hunt, etc.
  • Present live music
  • Restaurants can add locally-created artwork to a specialty menu
  • Hotels can offer "Fall for the Arts" over-night stay packages

Artists can:

  • Host an open studio and demonstrate your craft
  • Combine an exhibit with a family-friendly hands-on instruction art class
  • Re-dedicate an existing artwork. Is there a local favorite that is five, ten or twenty years old this year? Celebrate the anniversary through the Fall for the Arts Festival!
